A Letter of Advice for Next Year

study-480x400

Dear future AP enthusiast, I hope that you think twice about your schedule, because this class will change your high school life. Whether it be stress or willful experience, this Advanced English course at Everett Alvarez is the best course you could possibly take during your junior year at Alvarez High School.

Your summer task may be a drastic assignment, but just remember that all things are possible. As Albert Einstein once said, “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” Keep in mind that all that work may seem meaningless at first, but later it helps you out a lot, especially when imitations come into our playing field in the first semester with this AP course. When you see all those tone words for the first time, think of something that will be memorable especially if it helps you memorize them, the same thing goes for all the rhetorical devices.

Perhaps it is easy for those who have not witness the drastic number of pages from literature understand that books are not your enemy they are your salvation when in needed. Your reading techniques will be really needed in this AP course. When your get to read 1984, Brave New World, All Things Fall Apart, and etc. they will help your knowledge gain inspiration about your world and your perspective. These books will give you new ideas you never thought about. These books will bring you new feelings about your world about you never thought could happen These books will change your life.

My future advice for all you bloggers is that you should never get behind with your posting. These blogs will be not just your personal relief about school life and assignments, but it will also be a cushion grade for when AP testing week comes around. I will never forget our first commenting day, it was the first day to comment on one of my other friend’s blog post. I still remember when I saw my first comments, they made me feel so ecstatic. I still cannot believe that my peers believed in not just in me, but also my writing skills.

My very best advice for speech week in Quarter 3 is that you need to practice as much as you can. Based off of my own experience, it is best to practice with your family around so that you can shed off some of that stage fright which in my case, kicked in the moment I saw everyone look and watch when I debated. You can be given a topic about an issue or a problem either with the world or based on the books you have read in the past year in the AP course. This course activity was a way to gain experience with the lacking characteristics I never really achieved well enough before, this would include public speaking as one of them.

As you already know already by now, this advanced placement class will be also be recommending to take the AP English exam in the following Spring session in 2017. This exam is not all about just memorizing it is about tactics as well as confidence. It only takes one moment of  lacking confidence for you to be at a diving point of when you tell yourself that ‘I can do this’ and ‘What did I sign myself up for?’.

Sometimes Advance Placement courses can be cruel. That is ultimately the fundamental lesson here as those who come with no experience come and learn with a change of heart and with a passion. AP English is not as hard or treacherous as you might think it is. Try your best and do your very best to prove to yourself and other that AP course are not so frightening as others say to each other. My final words for all you incoming juniors is that this class is not just fun and exhilarating it is also another home away from home. Ms. Henry with being practically your guardian angel,  will help your fight and prepare you for the rock pasture toward the monstrous and terrifying AP English exam.

Sincerely yours,

Aaron

A Teen on Community Service Skills that Every High School Student Should Have

People in circle-128

  • A high school student must be able to do a least 60 hours of community service.

The Issue: We remind students when their community service hours are due and when to do it – occasionally helping them to do it, sometimes completing it for them; therefore, students don’t know how to get up and be proactive, become involved in their community, or meet qualified school standards, without current updates from announcements.

  • A high school student must cope with the gatherings of new people and events.

Managing time, getting to multiple areas to volunteer at, volunteering in an uncomfortable zone, and others.

The Issue: We jump in when times get difficult, give out simplistic hours resources, extend the deadlines for community service papers, and talk to parents; therefore, students don’t know that in the norm in life is to not get help in daily routines and or work life which involves putting them out there to meet others and that they’ll know they are safe.

  • A high school student must be able to earn several community service hours before they graduate.

The Issue: They don’t hold have full-time jobs; they receive unneeded allowances from us for an unknown reason for their every need; therefore, students don’t develop a sense of responsibility for completing and receiving items, independently from a community service director who probably does not physically love them, or a guided appreciation for the consuming hours of days and how to manage time.

Taunting: To reproach in a mocking, insulting, or contemptuous manner

Time in and time out, we, as students, see our summer taunting our adolescent minds. This urge is convincing some students to show effort in their bodies and other to try their hardest to where they almost break themselves from overworking. than ever to make it to the end of another year of high school.

“Why can’t we be friends?” This line from WAR reminds me of when school work makes others and I feel the struggle with from assignments as well as projects. From our due dates for our projects and work we turn for help and when no one is there when we feeling flustered and then those who have lost all hope see summer taunt them. Summer may taunt me and frustration, but my heart and I can show me the way to victory with a bit of elbow grease and effort from me.

Education To Me…

Education to me is freedom, it is hard to take my education system for granted, not every school like mine can have Chromebooks for every other student when a chrome cart is left in a room. It is fair and unfair that I am able to have a well-known education lifestyle whereas somewhere else across the ocean someone else could have less than whatever I own at school. Even though I enjoy most of my classes (not all of them, though). I am able to say that, “ I am happy with what I have, who wouldn’t want free education. Especially when our school gives us free calculators (when needed), free textbooks (when needed) and even free wireless internet; all during school. With the education I have came up to know with, I am able to advance into another era, where technology is able to help me whenever I am going to need it. With education, I am able to be creative like an artist. As a painter can paint a work of art on a canvas, any student is able to do the same with his or hers writing skills.

As we grow, education also grows too. It is the growing power of knowledge. Practically each day someone or something is theoretically made, discovered, or even created. During this action, we as the people are able to teach, learn, and even live by given talents from above. From education, we as the people are able to become whatever we so desire. Education may seem like a lot of work, especially for if you’re a struggling elementary schoolers to even a common college student.  Some say it can occasionally be mentally challenging; no matter what age, some time or even some place, a student or person is able to share the same struggles from Math and English to even Science.

Education is sometimes the answer. For some, we as the students do not like school, but on the other hand, we actually love to learn. Even though some days we do not even show it, we know it is good for ourselves. Even though sometimes we feel the need for our soma, education can not be push back. As seen from Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, soma is only a distraction the possessor holds and only the consumers can take it with their own will. So even though we wish for free time, we as the students know that education is important. It is important because, it teaches us how to speak, be, and even become. Education will always influence us, even during the times it does not even seem educational. Education will always affect all, it is up to us, though, to seek a well-balanced and educated lifestyle.

Being educated means you are able to do or even direct anything you want. Take movie producers as an example, if movie producers were never educated, then who would ever think of creating our famous movies we love watching today. Without education, how would we even get a man to the moon, Neil Armstrong would not just magically jump into space, it took several scientist and a variety of machinery (created by those scientist) to even get him and the others even into space. Without education, we as a society would not be very lively. Thinking about it now, we would practically still do whatever we wanted but, we would be limited to what ever we knew inside the box. Education may be a struggle, but education can be useful. Your actions do not limit you, only you can only limit your actions

Tired : in need of sleep or rest; weary

Time is flying by too fast. Things seem to be so far, yet seem to be so close. Time is flying by too fast, surely a countdown is on its way. I can never see a brighter side anymore. Only a calm storm can bring a clear sky now. My vision is flapping away like a flock of birds and my mind is going cuckoo. With spring on the way, some students see themselves in a position where their grades are not their brighter side. Some can say, “It may because of a lack of rest”, and others can say, “It is just plain laziness.”

Rest and education are alike because, without one or the other, a student can not function as an ordinary person. A difference between rest and education is that rest is for everyone, but sometimes education is not. If you  making excuses, then you will become a nuisance.  Nowadays sign of minor illness is now seeming to be an over-dramatic excuse to others, as a result, we receive a workload waiting for when we arrive back. I can agree, to say junior year is now hitting me as hard as a shotgun; shooting me down with every other bad letter grade. As a new quarter is beginning, it is time for all suggestions to be taken seriously and make sure that every growing teen is able to fly and flourish.

Responsibility is difficult, but during all this, the whole argument is all about how tired we are. If we seem to tire, then we will soon be lazy all the time, and then we would become a nuisance to others. Tiredness and exhaustion are bad and tiredness and exhaustion are not bad.

Laudatory: containing or expressing praise

Imagine going to a place that had everything you have ever dreamt of

This kingdom would be a place where you can have a night to remember and last forever and never ever forget.

Wouldn’t you think that this place seems so spectacular and almost like you are catching lightning.

I mean wouldn’t you think, this place would be a one in a million chance, especially since it is particularly made just for you.

This is your secret paradise. If any person had a chance to see it and believe it, most likely they would praise it to the most expense.

The Laudatory Kingdom is located beyond Action Avenue and across Achievement Lane.

Taking action, giving praise, “constantly”, dreaming and achieving are the fastest ways to get to this spontaneous and fantastic kingdom, we all wish to be at some part of our life.

Stranger in The Photo is Me

InstaCollage_1455686466000.jpg

I was never the kid in my family to fluster about while taking photos. To be honest, I enjoyed taking photos and at the same time hated the idea of it too. Growing up as a child I endured happy and gloomy time experience. Whether it be from beloved ones passing away or  my first time at an amusement park. These mixed emotions were the things I never understood as a child; they were very different from what I was used to. All I knew how to do was to be happy, joyful, and silly as a child growing up in the new millennium. However, later in my life, I soon realised that happiness is never a teardrop away. From one glance, I can bring back memories as fast as a monster truck can flip in a race.

When I spare time to glance back at my photo, I become aware that it was so long ago, as well as how much I have changed. I can never go back in time, but the photo can live forever as it does not deteriorate. I still love monster trucks, that is probably the one thing from my childhood I will never let go of. I still remember when every May came, my sister, parents, and I would go see these gargantuan trucks. They seemed so radiant and their shine was as sharp as the sun’s light, so much so that it bounced off of a pair of my dad’s sunglasses.

The other school photos I have are just too awkward. I always enjoyed my elementary days, but just sometimes I just say, “No More! No more photos MOM!” The memories that I do enjoy remembering, are the times when every other day in my Second-grade class my friend Damian would always choose someone to leave early with him to go eat lunch and go on the computers and play games all lunch. I remember I would go every other time because the majority of the time he would choose his other friend named Brian. It was one of those “cool factors” of being an elementary kid in 2007.

I swear my photos make me seem I always was skinny, but that is a funny and incorrect fact. The chubby bunny challenge, as known as my really bad chubby year’s, kicked in around 4th grade and continued until 8th grade. It’s still horrifying to see myself as that chubby kid. That yearbook photo and ID will and still remind me of, “What was going on with my fluffy and perky smile.” Thus, it creeps the heck out of me whenever I ever see or go back to that photo.

During the transitioning period between elementary to middle school, it was very easy and not so easy. It was the best of times, of my pre-teen life, and the worst of times too. The school, teachers, clubs, and after school activities were fun parts of the middle school life, but having seven different classes each day and a social division was new and different for me to see and follow. During these next three years at Bolsa Knolls, I was able to meet some of my future high school friends. Most of these people I still talk to. I think I mostly miss my middle school’s after school activities the most, whether it be the beach trip, the skating trip, and even Movie Night outside under the stars.

Saying goodbye was sort of difficult for me because some of my closest friends were going to different high schools. I almost felt that I was alone because during summer school for Health Education I only knew two people. The funny thing about that class was, some of those people I have in my regular classes I have now. I had never yet thought summer classmates would later be best friends or funny acquaintances to say “ Hi” to. I had no idea that my high school academics would be more than less difficult than going to the moon. Who knew most work from Freshmen year to beginning of Junior year was not as complicated as rocket science. I had not ever once thought I am failing and I am not going anywhere in life. I always saw letter grades as what you ranked in a class of student, it is what you gain from the class, not just the curriculum.

I can never wish for a different lifestyle, I enjoy mine so much because it is my own kingdom, my own domain, my own life. In the photos I have taken not so long ago, this year, you are able to see and notice that my impression on school, life, and the world has changed. Life waits for no one, it is what you chose to make of it. Taking a picture of the event may just keep the frozen frame for an eternity, but it is the story that goes with the photo which makes its special and worthwhile.

Word of the Month January

winter-gif26.gif

Pompous: characterized by an ostentatious display of dignity or importance.

January is the month of the new year, new me. But in reality, most people tend to never keep their resolutions. Most people say they never have time to do them, but the majority of the people who refuse to do their resolution have either over thought them or made it up to help their pompous self-become a new person and retire their old self. January may be a refreshing new start for some and may even cause horrendous beginnings for those with a lot stuck on their plate. Even though spring is still far from now, the grass is always greener on the other side. Remember that words can always help your perseverance and aptitude; I understand some words can seem useless unless they are used correctly. Three words to keep in mind this January are passion, purpose, and pompous. They may seem just like ordinary words, but in reality, they will guide you into a greater and positive January this year. These words are your canvas for your passionate self and endurance.

Finding My Passion

passion-to-purpose-to-profession.png

Anyone and everyone can have a spontaneous life if they follow the three P’s. Passion, purpose, and pompous. These words have some sort of effect on almost everyone. For instance, passion; everyone has some sort of particular passion whether it be driving, reading, writing or even partying. One way or another, everyone is capable of dreaming or doing an extraordinary or simple passion. Now, a purpose, anyone can make their passion have a purpose, by making themselves and others feel bombastic or joyful with their hobbies and or activities. And now pompous, without a self-reflection or absorption, no one will ever take their passion to heart and make it personally meaningful and worthwhile.

As an average teen, I enjoy common things that some teens like. For instance, video games. I especially love Guitar Hero Live as it always makes me smile because the music makes me feel so valuable to the imaginary zone of rockstar dome. This activity makes me feel like a rock star, but still stay an average joe and maintain a normal life. On top of my hobby, I would like to add helping others. Helping others make me feel happy and joyful, the reactions of the people’s faces make my destiny feel like. I’m on a brighter side of my life.

Things that I find fairly easy to me is by being my calm, kind, joyful, and silly self, I do not just help myself be a happier me, I also help the other people around me by helping them have a better day regardless if it was a really somber day or really prosperous day.

Creativity flows out of me almost musically. When I think of  what sparks my creativity, I tend to lean over to music because music makes anyone feel ready to jump to the rhythm. I sometimes can never stop thinking about how I am in a sacred zone where I am able to be whatever I feel like being because of the musical groove.

If I had a chance, I would help younger children for free. I would help them because they always need help with their homework or subjects that seem too difficult to them. I could be a good role model.

A couple things that I enjoy talking about are my family vacations and my minor video game obsessions. These two ideas tend to occasionally get brought up from time to time to keep myself seem a little bit more interesting.

Trying new foods would positively be one idea that I would regret never trying. I say this because I sometimes seem picky when eating food, but everyone eventually needs to try something new. I would love to do this because it would give me an extreme feeling of living on the edge and hopefully bring me a source powerful control on what I tend to guide in my life

What makes me unafraid of failure is positive thinking and apprehending a brighter side of a situation and make it better by fixing my future mistake and solve the issue.

And finally, what I would regret never trying most likely would be riding an ATV or even a Supercross bike. Living is my greatest passion.
